Community Ministries
Jessamine County Food Pantry
Nicholasville Christian is the host church for this vital community ministry. N.C.C. stores the food commodities, provides space to pack the food boxes and is the distribution center for the once a month food program. With many other faithful members from other area churches, we are able to help feed roughly 400 people per month through the JCFP.
Angel Tree
Every Christmas N.C.C. receives names of local children who are in need during the Christmas holiday. Church members adopt one of these children and become a “Christmas angel”. The children are given gifts of shoes, clothing and toys for Christmas.
Another group that receives gifts at Christmas are members of the Jessamine Adult Day Care program. Clients of this program are generally mentally-challenged adults who are provided a place to spend the day while their family members are at work. N.C.C. has adopted these special people and joyfully provide them Christmas gifts every year.
Friday Food Program
There are an increasing number of local children who leave school on Fridays unsure of how much they will have to eat on the weekends. In response to this need, Circle 2 has partnered with Brookside Elementary to pack bags for 10 children every week. All the food is nutritional and can be prepared by the children. The approximate cost will be $70.00 each week. There is a donation list and tub located in the hospitality room if you wish to donate food items. If you wish to make a monetary donation, checks can be made to Circle 2 and placed in the offering plate or left at the church office.
